Centre for Anglo-German Relations Queen Mary, University of London Workshop: “Invisible Women: British and German Women Playwrights” Friday, 1 May 2009, 2:00-6:00pm In the Lock-Keeper’s Cottage Queen Mary, Mile End Campus On Friday 1 May 2009, the Graduate School for the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Centre for Anglo-German Cultural Relations at Queen Mary, University of London will host a workshop featuring two of the most distinguished experts on English and German women playwrights respectively. Professor Kate Newey of the University of Birmingham will be speaking on ‘Invisible Women. The Playwrights Many People Didn’t Realize Existed’. Professor Susanne Kord, of University College London, will address the question: 'What We Don't Know Won't Hurt Us? Why We Don't Know any German Women Playwrights'. The event will take place between 2.00 and 6.00 p.m. in the George Steiner Room of the Lockkeeper’s Cottage, Queen Mary, University of London. Light refreshments will be provided.
