Hello Everyone

The next JISC CETIS Accessibility SIG (Special Interest Group) meeting will
be held on Wednesday 13th May 2009 at Technium CAST, Bangor, North Wales.

Anyone with an interest in e-learning and accessibility is welcome.  The
event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.  Registration is
now open at http://jisc.cetis.ac.uk/events/register.php?id=161 .

Sessions include: 

* Towards an Adaptable Personal Learning Environment - Elaine Pearson and
Stavroula Gkatzidou, Accessibility Research Centre, University of Teesside.
The Accessibility Research Centre's latest research on the creation of
adaptable personal learning environments will be presented by Elaine and
Stavroula.

* AccessApps: Supporting Learners with Additional Needs - Craig Mill, JISC
RSC (Regional Support Centre) Scotland and North East.
Hands-on Session: Craig will be demonstrating the critically acclaimed
AccessApps toolset. So if you have a laptop, bring one along.

* Web 2.0 Applications and Accessibility – E A Draffan, University of
Southampton.
E A will talk about the Web2Access Project, which has looked at Web 2.0
applications, accessibility, and their use for e-learning.

* Presentation and Discussion: Alternative Ways of Logging-in for Learners
with More Complex Needs – Lisa Valentine, JISC RSC North West.
Accessible log-ins seem to be problematic area for many at the moment, so
Lisa will report on some of the "solutions" that have been developed in the
Specialist Colleges in the North West. This will be followed by discussion -
so come and share any solutions you may also have found.
