Although, Google's world domination is indeed somewhat daunting, I genuinely believe that the basic aim is a good one.  They want to provide Joe Public with ads for products he's interested in; which therefore generate a greater no. of sales for the advertiser, for which Google can charge more for, and that money then funds all those background boys, and pays for all those servers they're running…...  They have to make money in order to provide us with the services/product innovation that we have come to expect pro gratis.  And actually, I'd prefer to see adverts for products I want instead of rubbish I don't.
