I have also be "pursued" by phone for a neighbour's debt. When asked by
unknown parties if they can speak to <neighbour> I usually ask who they
are, say no, further explain that I have no knowledge of said neighbour's
whereabouts and tell them that they should not have rung my TPS-registered
number with unsolicited calls and would they kindly not ring me again
(deep breath).
I now know that the said neighbour (now ex) was avoiding repayment of a
student loan.
