After an age this thread has prompted me to fix the broken link for this in the Blackboard catalogue and provide a slightly updated release for Blackoard 9 compatibility - two things I've been meaning to do for ages. For those interested the correct link for downloading the tool is: http://projects.oscelot.org/gf/project/grouptools/frs/ As ever feedback is welcome! This allows a CSV file to be uploaded. This file consists of two fields (columns), the first being username and the second being group name. Using Excel it is relatively easy/quick to populate the group name column with various group names e.g. these ten students are red group, these green group etc. Uploading the CSV file both creates the groups and adds the users (users have to be already enrolled on the course). I think (but it predates my involvement) that the building block originally came from the University of York. The student numbers are approximately 1000 and we need varying groupings. Is there an easy way of doing this? I have the Advance Group Tool Building Block but that is still a lot of work for these numbers. I am hoping that there is a "batch group create" option out there somewhere. thanks, Arthur Loughran -- Dr Anthony Leonard System Integrator Computing Service University of York Heslington, York YO10 5DD +44 1904 434350
