Dear Allstatters

There are still places available at the Scottish and Northumbrian Academic
Statisticians Meeting to be held at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow
next month (see message below). The deadline has been extended to 11th May.

The Scottish and Northumbrian Academic Statisticians Meeting will take place
on *Friday 22nd May* 2009, 11.00-5.00pm in McCance Lecture Room 1. Full

We have been very lucky to get three very distinguished speakers who have
agreed to speak at this meeting. 

SPEAKERS

Sheila Bird (MRC Biostatistics Unit, Cambridge)
Drugs and statistical science in the 21st century: reflections on infectious
disease epidemiology and criminal justice

Mark Woolhouse (University of Edinburgh)
Model development, model fitting, model selection and model validation for
infectious disease data

Marian Scott (University of Glasgow)
Statistical challenges in environmental sciences
