Dear all,

Thank you Ian. Perhaps my question was a bit too simplified. My colleague needs a method/software to take the measurements by digitizing each mandibula/image of it. I know that some work is done with teeth, but what about whole bones? The idea is to find a way to get the measurements directly and not taking all (tens of measurements) manually for each of the 4000 mandibles.

I hope this claryfies the problem,

Pirkko Ukkonen

Dear Pirkko,

You should find all the measurements you need in von den Driesch (1976). If they are not listed for Ruminantia you could always import them from other species. Failing that invent them.

Best wishes,
