Good morning dear fellow zooarchers!

I am currently working on a small late roman assemblage from Holybourne near Alton. It includes a very small equid metacarpus: GL 116 mm, Bd 48 mm, Bp 45.6 mm and SD 31.9 mm. Any idea how to further identify it (i.e. donkey etc; the figures in Eisenmann don’t cater for such small individuals)? If used with the factors of May, it produces a height at the withers of just 81 cm! Does anybody know of similar finds?

Thanks for any help and best wishes, Jessica
