On this topic, would you-all be willing to say which is your favorite
statistics software for archaeozoological analysis? I have been advised to
get "mini-tab" and it looks wonderful but also they want eleven hundred
bucks for it.

Umberto has a paper out there which I recently had the opportunity to look
at in which he makes the case for the necessity of biometry upon
archaeological specimens, in which he begins by noticing that our
community tends to be divided into two groups with respect to measuring
bones: those who love it, and those who hate it. I belong to the latter
group but still agree with Umberto, you have to do it when appropriate.
But it isn't appropriate to bust my budget either! So is there freeware or
cheapware that's any good?

Thanks ahead of time to anyone willing to give advice on this!
