The Engineering Subject Centre is pleased to announce two forthcoming events, offered without charge, which may be particularly useful for those newly appointed as engineering academic staff.

New Lecturers' Workshop
Date: 1 April 2009 to 2 April 2009.
Location: Assessment for Learning CETL, Northumbria University.

Summary: This two day residential workshop is aimed at recently appointed engineering lecturers and is designed to supplement accredited generic-based courses that all new academic staff are required to undertake. Delegates have the opportunity to share ideas and experiences with colleagues from across the UK through practical activity and group based sessions. The programme covers a range of topics relevant to teaching undergraduate engineering students including designing modules and assessing engineering students. This is also an opportunity to learn more about the resources available from the Engineering Subject Centre and how the Centre can support delegates in their teaching.
