Dear Rana,

I am organising a conference on 17-18 April 2009 at London Metropolitan University on the theme of 'Religion and Democratisations'. Please find information about the event in the attachments. Could you publicise it to your colleagues and those in your network?

	Dear colleagues

I am co-organising a workshop at Warwick University on 6th May which aims to develop constructive debate on the role of faith groups in social policy in the UK. This will seek to take account of the likely implications of the 2007 Welfare Reform act and the increasing/future involvement of faith groups in the UK in social welfare provision.

I attach for you the programme with all the confirmed speakers and extend an invitation to all who are interested to attend. There are limited places for this workshop, so it will be first come first served. Once you confirm your attendance, we will add you to our mailing list and final confirmation of the details of the event will be sent out in due course.

The workshop is free of charge, and promises to bring together a broad mix of policy makers, representatives of various funding bodies, multi-faith grassroots organisations and researchers from a variety of academic disciplines. It is also sponsored by the Social Policy Association (amongst other organisations) and we will be producing a report which will be disseminated via the Policy World newsletter/magasine.

If you are interested in attending, please contact me and copy my colleague Catie Anders. We can also arrange overnight accommodation for you at the University of Warwick conference facilities should you require this.

Travel bursaries will be available for voluntary sector organisations who wish to attend.

Many thanks and all good wishes.

	Importance: High

	Dear all,

Please see attached the draft timetable for Stages 2 and 3 in the social science programme for 2009-10. There are several things to clarify that I need from you urgently, i.e. by 2pm tomorrow (Thursday 12/03) please!!

	1. Can you all check that this is what you think you are doing!

	2. Alisoun, can you let me/Marilyn have details of SO593 Developing Practice Competence and SO589 User Specific Practice and Services which we need to add, and confirm who is teaching SO586?

	3. Kate, I have removed 'From the Blitz to Blair...' - is that correct?

	4. Anne, I've not copied CJS sessionals into this message - can you kindly check those slots too?

	5. Balihar, as you'll see, we've not included any politics options (as per earlier discussion) but have made provision for other evening teaching - do you think this is enough?

	Thanks,

	Dawn
