Dear All,
The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) runs a programme of scientific
events to facilitate the communication of information between professional
zoologists, researchers, students and the interested public.
Within our programme of scientific events, we have Scientific Meetings which
are evening talks on zoological or conservation-related topics and are free and
open to everyone. Scientific and Discussion Meetings consist of three or four invited
speakers presenting their work on different aspects of the overall topic and questions
are then taken from the audience. These events run between October and June between
6.00 and 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of the month (we’re aim to hold 9
meetings in total); topics are varied and can be suggested by anyone.
Our remaining Scientific Meetings for this academic year will be “The
climate change threat to corals” on 14 April, “Extinction risk in
common species” on 12 May, and “Bushmeat and fisheries within the
livelihood context - what are the implications for conservation?” on 9
June (please see www.zsl.org/science/scientific-meetings
for full information) and we are now looking
for topics to be covered in next year’s programme…
Please see www.zsl.org/science/scientific-meetings/proposing-a-scientific-meeting,134,AR.html
for our call for proposals for Scientific Meetings to be held between October
2009 and June 2010 and please send completed proposals to me at [log in to unmask] by 31 March 2009.
Please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any queries and I look
forward to your suggestions.
Many thanks,
Joy :-)
