Lectureship in Communication School of Social Science, History and Philosophy Ref: 10190 12 months fixed term contract (in the first instance), full time position Based in the new Department of Applied Linguistics and Communication, this is an opportunity for applicants with interests and experience in teaching and research in Communication. This might include those working in one or more of the following areas: business and professional communication; health and life-span communication, including communication disorders; discourse and social interaction; intercultural communication; discursive and critical psychology. It is desirable that you will have a PhD, or equivalent, in Communication or a closely related discipline. Additionally it is essential that you will have a proven track record in research and publications; and experience of teaching to degree level. You will be expected to make a major contribution to the teaching and administration of new postgraduate programmes in Communication. The post is tenable from 1 September 2009. Salary: £33,501 rising to £38,376 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. This job is full time and 12 months fixed term in the first instance. The renewal of this post is subject to the College's approval and financial conditions. The salary quoted above is inclusive of London allowance. The initial salary award will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment may be subject to a probationary period of up to three years.
