Dear List member
Changing your subscription options when you go on holiday:
As folks are likely to be on holiday over the Easter period, can I take this opportunity to remind people of how to manage their subscriptions to the HER Forum email list
Q - What do I do if I go on Holiday? |
|
It is wise to suspend your mail from a list if you are away from the office for more than a week. You will need to resume mail on your return. To do this send the
following command to [log in to unmask]
set * mail/nomail or Go to the homepage of http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/archives/herforum.html. Enter Join or leave the list (or change settings) and tick /untick the mail/nomail checkbox |
(you will need your Jiscmail account name and password to get into this)
You can find a link to a general list of FAQs for Jiscmail here http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/help/using/quickuser.htm
Preventing your out of office message posting to HER Forum
I have been investigating how to avoid having Out of Office messages posted to the list, there are global list settings to prevent this but these have apparently been blocking some users from posting to the list and so I have switched these off for the moment.
In the meantime it would be very useful if you could add a rule to your out of office email which excludes it from being posted to the email address: [log in to unmask] if you are not suspending your subscription to the list while you are away.
Many thanks and happy holidays.
Regards
Bruce
