The Department of German at Durham University seeks to appoint a
permanent Lecturer in German. The successful candidate will be able to
demonstrate significant research achievements commensurate with his/her
academic age, and have the potential to make an outstanding contribution
to the research culture of the Department and School. S/he will also
contribute fully to the Department's teaching programme, and participate
in the delivery of a range of team-taught modules in language,
literature, and cultural history. This will involve both plenary
sessions of up to 40 students and seminars of between 10 and 25
students. The person appointed will be a committed team player, and will
work closely with other members of academic staff and the teaching
fellow to ensure consistently high-quality teaching provision.
