Hi Elspeth

The Ulster American folk park in Northern Ireland is fantastic – a huge outdoor museum depicting traditional Ireland in the nineteenth century, followed by the experience of emigration, and then a reconstruction of their new life in America at the end of it: http://www.folkpark.com/

Hi Elspeth

Not a museum per se, but the PM Gallery in west London currently has an art exhibition about the Irish emigrant experience in the UK. It runs until 18 April.

Details here: http://www.ealing.gov.uk/services/leisure/museums_and_galleries/pm_gallery_and_house/exhibitions/the_quiet_men.html

Thanks,

Adrian

Subject: Museums about emigration/irish famine

Hello all

Can anyone recommend any good exhibitions/museums/visitor centres which deal with the subject of emigration in general, emigration from Ireland in particular or the Irish famine? Preferably in UK or Ireland, but further away interesting too.

Many thanks

Elspeth
