Touches seems to be a new housing estate on the NE edge of Chard. The name is not in any of the dictionaries. Old OS maps show an Upper Touches Farm and a Lower Touches Farm in this location, as well as a plain Touches apparently as a district name. Does anyone know the origin - perhaps an old French manorial name? Keith
