Hi

Check out the following link to Madentec for Magic Cursor 2000. This is programmable time delay software which acts as both left and right mouse buttons. There is also a free downloadable trial version.

Subject: Virtual mouse clicking solutions

Hi,

Here's one for all you teckies out there...

I have met with a final year Theology PhD student who has severe RSI
related injuries in her right hand, arm and shoulder. The main bulk of
her PHD involves her translating New Testament Greek on screen into an
electronic format. In doing this work she is required to press the
mouse several times per minute in order to update any amendments she has
made on screen to the text. She has previously used a support worker to
type for her but this is not a solution that worked well for this type
of work and so she is asking if I know of anything that will replace the
need for her to physically click the mouse so often.

We did talk about Dragon Vr however as the issue is not so much
transcription but more the ability to use voice recognition to reproduce
a mouse click I am not sure how effective this solution will be.

She is also an Apple user and is currently using a 3yr old Mac Ibook
fitted with an external keyboard and mouse.

I am going to look at loaning her an ergonomic mouse / keyboard but the
main issue here is whether anyone knows of a piece of software that will
offer this virtual mouse clicking facility.

Apparently a friend has mentioned some Apple specific software that can
do this but so far I've had no luck tracking it down!

Any help gratefully received!

With best wishes,

Phil
