Oh Tilla, you are always so fair.
I have no sympathy with Motion - he is an intelligent man so he must  
have known full-well what the job would entail and what the  
expectations would be. He took the job out of ego.
Abolish the post. Abolish the crown. Abolish Mondays. Abolish Abolish  
Abolish.
