Hi Neil, This was discussed at the ScotBUG meeting in Glasgow on Friday. I think most ex WebCT clients won't jump yet, as true feature parity isn't out yet and not planned until at least 9.1 if not 9.2 (depending if you are on CE or Vista). Some of the braver Blackboard classic clients were talking of upgrading. I think Durham will - we are certainly planning to make the move, but have a few bugs - notably issues with tab groups and errors in the XSS work-arounds that are causing us concern at present. We have the released version of 9 running on a test box and are beginning the discussions with our users. (I understand that v9 isn't even out yet?). In any case it appears to be v10 that will bring the big benefits so we are going to stay with v8 for next academic year and hope that we can go from 8-10 the year after, but this may be optimistic Martin Scarrott Acting Director of Information Services & Systems St Mary's University College, Twickenham Waldegrave Road TW1 4SX 020 82402304 ________________________________ From: Blackboard/Courseinfo userslist on behalf of Neil Penry Sent: Mon 09/03/2009 14:25 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Upgrading to Blackboard version 9 Is anyone out there planning on upgrading to version 9 in the near future? I would be interested in hearing of anyone who has made a decision not to upgrade this summer (and why) and also if anyone is planning to upgrade (and any particular issues they had to consider).
