Carmichael Watson Project, University of Edinburgh

Salary Scale: £24,877 - £28,839    

Following a recent funding award from the AHRC phase three of the Carmichael Watson Project aims to open up an outstanding collection of Gaelic manuscripts, centred on the papers of the pioneering folklorist Alexander Carmichael.  We require a highly motivated archivist to play a key role in the Carmichael Watson Project team.  You will be responsible for the creation of indexed catalogue descriptions and will assist with overall project delivery and resource development. 

You will be a graduate with a professional qualification in archives management and have practical experience of all technical standards, formats and protocols affecting archival description and knowledge of preservation issues and standards.  You will have excellent IT, organisational, interpersonal and problem solving skills and a working knowledge of Gaelic would be a desirable but is not an essential requirement.
 
The post is fixed-term for two years.
