Hello Eleni, For the pig mandible it would be a good idea to check it with Actinomyces - a bacteria that can do some serious damage to the mandible. This infection can get inot the jaws of pig, cattle, deer and even people by sharp pieces of grain piercing the gums as well as from infected teeth or a fracture. I have some pictures of an archaeological pig that I could send you to compare with yours and some modern papers on the infection.
