I am stuck in Egypt without access to good libraries at the moment but
need to research on salted fish/fish sauce (garum):

Is there any material/textual evidence of trade between Egypt and the
Levant or the Roman and Greek Empires (Mediterranean, Atlantic, Red Sea
Coast - by means of those who trade with Egypt) involving salted (not
dried) fish and/or fish sauce (garum) during the first millenium
BC-first millenium AD? Are there records about fish sauce (garum) being
exported from the northern and eastern Mediterranean (Roman Empire/Greek
Empire/Persian Empire etc.) to the southern Mediterranean, respectively
Egypt, and vice versa (produced in Egypt and traded north) and does
anyone know further records about fish sauce being produced along the
Nile up to Aswan or traded in land during Persian, Greek and Roman times?
