Call for Papers: IGRS Grad Forum

Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies, Senate House.
3rd March 2009, 5:00 – 6:30 pm, Room STB8

On 3rd March, the IGRS Graduate Forum will hold its next session. The Grad Forum team invites proposals for 15-minute papers, treating any aspect of the culture of any German-speaking or Romance language country.

There is no specific theme for this session: our aim is initially to provide an open forum for post-graduates to present their research – work in progress is welcome – and secondarily to explore areas of common interest as they emerge. The Forum is intended to be a flexible structure, shaped by the interests of its participants.

The IGRS Grad Forum, run by and for graduate students, is open to all postgraduate researchers whose work engages with any aspect of the culture in those parts of the world where French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish is spoken. Graduate students from departments other than Modern Languages (e.g. History of Art, Film and Media, History, Anthropology) are very welcome to join the group to develop interdisciplinary links. As well as stimulating intellectual debate, the Forum is intended to be a social occasion enabling students from different departments across greater London and beyond to meet and discuss their work in an informal setting without the presence of academic staff.

If you are interested in presenting a paper, please send a brief outline of your proposal to:
