medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Dear Good People-

Due to the influence of the saint perhaps, I went out and did the
research for the second edition of Brigid of the Gael- the most
extensive collection of materials since Colgan in the 17th century. The
book is much bigger. 255 pages and is tape bound which is an improvement
over the plastic comb binding of the first edition. This time I have
extended my coverage to include later materials as well as a section on
music. I have kept the interpretation minimal but there is a bit more of
it. I have also created a PDF edition on CD which has bonus files of
triads, ranns, proverbs and prayers, sayings on html included. So a
grand effort. If you know a library - of course they will need a copy.
Feel free to put the word in for me. I can perhaps arrange a Library
discount. Just have the library send me a request.

I hope that the book helps everyone distinguish between new revelation
and the ancient material, and that it helps readers to understand Saint
Brigid of Kildare and help bring her through time.
