Dear Colleagues,

Due to unexpected staff illness, the School of Arts & Media, Buckinghamshire
New University, is urgently looking for an Hourly Paid Lecturer to cover
five weeks of teaching on the following Media Studies undergraduate modules,
starting week-beginning Monday 2nd March:

Level 6 - Politics of Childhood
Level 5 - TV Drama

Each of these modules require two hours of contact time per week, in the
form of classroom workshops.

Suitable applicants should hold a postgraduate qualification, have some
experience of teaching at HE level, and have research interests in the areas
of children's media/representations of childhood, and ideally have some
knowledge of the history and sociology of childhood (in the case of Politics
of Childhood) and British television history, period drama, and American TV
drama on British screens (in the case of TV Drama). Ideally, the applicant
would be able to cover both areas, but we are willing to consider dividing
the work according to expertise.

The applicant would also be expected to mark assessments for taught modules
(as well as moderate on a Level 4 module called Media Contexts), and this
assessment work would paid in addition to teaching hours.

All teaching plans and assessment have already been prepared, and relevant
documentation will be provided.

Interested parties should contact Greg Singh in the first instance.
