CFP Symposium: "What's occurring?": Gavin and Stacey and the Contemporary Sitcom ATRiuM, University of Glamorgan, Cardiff, April 3rd 2009 From Coal House to Dr Who, South Wales has played host to a range of quality television of late, and this one-day Symposium turns due attention to the BBC's BAFTA Award winning sitcom Gavin and Stacey. The organisers are pleased to welcome both Andy Medhurst (author of A National Joke: Popular Comedy and English Cultural Identities) and Brett Mills (author of Television Sitcom) to the Symposium, and are delighted that Welsh media journal Cyfrwng will be hosting the closing event.
