Greetings all,

I intend to move our site-BDII from our 3.0 CE to 3.1 CE - what should I do
to stop site-BDII on the 3.0 CE?

At any one time you could have more that one site BDII. The higher
BDIIs will only look
at the one you have specified in the GOCDB. i.e the migration is easy.

And, do I need to run yaim on every single node I have?

Probably not. Just the CEs (or rather the nodes running your site BDIIs)

[ miniscule detail ]

In /opt/glite/etc/profile.d/grid-env.sh on the Worker Nodes, the
parameter "SITE_GIIS_URL" points to the site BDII. Although I doubt
anyone uses it, if he wants to be 100% correct he 'll have to update
it...

Hi Santanu,
the first step is to schedule a downtime on GOC-DB (to avoid tickets in case of failures ;-)

then configure and start the new site-bdii. At this point on GOC-DB modify the GIIS url field setting the new site-bdii changing accordingly the type of service site-BDII for the nodes involved.

the fourth step is to switch-off the old site-bdii, and before the ending of the downtime be sure that the site is correctly published in the top-bdiis (GSTAT seems to be quite slow to notice changes)

Cheers,
Alessandro
