Hi Andrew,

We're making small steps down this line, using javascript to take rss
from LSE Research Online (http://eprints.lse.ac.uk/) and put it on a few
web pages.

For example, our subject specific guides:

http://www.lse.ac.uk/library/qusugu/mathsother.htm

We're also working with a couple of individual researchers, and some
tentative departments, who are interested in putting feeds into their
own pages. We don't have any good examples yet to share though.

LSE has Moodle as a VLE and this allows rss in modular boxes, so where
we have subject (or format, like data) specific Moodle courses, we've
experimented with putting feeds in there as well.

Here's a screenshot from Moodle (as you won't be able to see it live):
http://personal.lse.ac.uk/PUPLETT/lsemoodlefeeds.jpg. This is from our
test Moodle course, hence it's a bit ramshackle. You'll see on the right
a feed of recent Mathematics research from our repository.

We're messing around really at this stage and would be very interested
to see other examples!

Dave

Subject: Re: Interesting uses of repository material on your
institutional website

We've built an API on top of our Scholarly Publications Repository to
allow custom feeds for display outside of the repository. We've also
built a customizable page-building system to allow campus units to point
to a page in the repository with custom titles, logo, and content. See
the API documentation at
http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/repository/scholpubs/ws/wsinfo.php
