The NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Mental health and psychological wellbeing among adults with long-term conditions: maintaining and improving the lives of people with developmental conditions or post-traumatic impairments of brain function Applications are invited for a post as a full-time Research Assistant to work on an innovative, inter-disciplinary, project which aims to identify those health service practices that best support men and women with long-term conditions. You should hold a good undergraduate degree (First or 2 (i)) in the psychological, behavioural, cognitive, or social sciences and excellent skills in analysing and presenting quantitative data. You will also need to be enthusiastic about working in a multi-disciplinary team and have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. The post will be based in Douglas House, Trumpington Road, Cambridge, but travel is likely to be required across Cambridgeshire so a full driver's licence and access to a car is essential. If successful, you will be required to apply for enhanced CRB disclosure. The post is available immediately, initially until 30th September, 2009. Further funding is, however, available for an additional three years to support the further development of the project. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to apply for an extension of his/her post. If he/she has an undergraduate degree, we will encourage him/her to undertake a relevant Ph.D.; if a Ph.D. is completed during the initial period, then the post-holder will be encouraged to apply for a post as a Research Associate.
