My client is a major
player in the growing market for geospatial information and despite the
slowdown they are on track for a record year in 2009. Key to maintaining this momentum is the
appointment of an accomplished marketeer with experience of the GIS
industry. The person appointed will
play a major part in driving forward a proactive
programme of marketing communications initiatives across a global market
base. The job will have a firm
software product-based focus along with a remit to support the business
development and software development teams.
To
qualify for this exceptional opportunity you must be educated to degree level in
a geographic or geospatial discipline and possess meaningful experience of
running marketing activities within a geospatial context. Additionally you must
be IT literate and competent in MS Office software, in particular database and
spreadsheet applications.
This
is a hands on role so you should be competent in the use of graphic design
packages and the internet. Good communication skills are essential as is the
ability to work both as an individual and as part of a
team.
Main Activities:
Become involved in
all aspects of internal and external marketing communications.
Ensure the
co-ordination and delivery of regional and international marketing events
including educational seminars, product launches and trade
exhibitions.
Assume responsibility for the design, copy and production of
marketing literature.
Oversee
the development of the company web site and new media marketing campaigns.
To
administer and manage commercial databases for targeted marketing
activities.
To undertake promotional campaigns within local, national and
trade publications
