Evidence for policy, practice and personal decisions

A short course on maximising the use of research for policy and practice

Evidence for policy, practice and personal decisions will enable you to involve policy makers, practitioners and service users in doing and using research. You will critically engage with the latest theories and debates about the relevance and application of research findings for policy, practice and personal decisions. 

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to conduct and use research collaboratively, in order to promote change for better health, education or well-being.

Methods for Research Synthesis

A short course on the theory and practice of qualitative and quantitative approaches to synthesis

Methods for Research Synthesis will equip you with the skills to undertake a qualitative or quantitative synthesis in a systematic review. It is designed for experienced researchers who wish to gain an advanced, working knowledge of synthesis methods. You will be able to use these methods for your own research, whether in academic study or policy relevant research.

On successful completion of the course, you will become familiar with the aims and rationale for different methods of critical appraisal and research synthesis.
