You can usually work it out from the leaving collection.  if there is
one then they have resigned.  No collection means requested to leave for
one reason or another.

Let's not mince words over redundancy either.  Redundancy is dismissal
because someone else got it wrong.  Being fired is because you got it
wrong.  but neither of those gets a leaving collection!
