Just for information CETIS has recently started a widgets working group. Initially we're looking at infrastructure issues - but we would be really interested in hearing from anyone building educationally based widgets. (if you haven't already of course). FeedForward does extract keywords from feed XML so surely it will only take a bit of further tweaking to get to your use case, although of course I've no idea how large is "large" in terms of your OPML file and how FeedForward copes with that. Hope you keep the repositories community informed of what you're doing in this area- could be inspiring to others. I'm interested in the RSS section 3.4 and will investigate further... "Drag-and-Drop NewsFeed Resources into a Repository' We're doing a lot of thinking about podcast RSS feeds and aggregation and visualisation of the metadata. I'd be interested in anyone who has interesting widgets for the web broswer or other portals ( Facebook/VLEs ) etc that can take an OPML file of a large group of rss feeds, scan through for a certain field of keyowrods and then present it as something interesting for the viewer, perhaps * Tag cloud of subject related keywords * Dynamic scrollable tag cloud * Visualisations of keyword nodes ( like mindmaps) and how they relate to each other, popularity etc At 11:20 +0000 5/2/09, Sarah Currier wrote: Hello all, Apologies for cross-posting. Just a wee note to let you know, as part of the SWORD2 project, there's a new e-Learning Focus Feature on the JISC CETIS website, introducing SWORD to e-learning managers, learning materials repositories developers, managers, users, etc.: SWORD: Cutting Through the Red Tape to Populate Learning Materials Repositories <http://www.elearning.ac.uk/features/sword>http://www.elearning.ac.uk/features/sword This is a non-technical article including 4 case study vignettes, or 'SWORD Stories', illustrating how SWORD (in some cases alongside other open standards) can be used to improve the user's experience of repositories: SWORD Story A: Drag-and-Drop Desktop Tool SWORD Story B: Bulk Deposit for Sharing Metadata SWORD Story C: Deposit from a Content Creation Tool SWORD Story D: Drag-and-Drop NewsFeed Resources into a Repository Hope some of you might find this useful.
