CALL FOR PAPERS 8th Annual Voyages in Translation Studies Student Colloquium " History and Translation Studies " Friday March 27, 2009 Concordia University, Montreal This annual bilingual colloquium is organized by the Graduate Students Association in Translation Studies of Concordia University. It is an opportunity for graduate students of all levels in the fields of Translation, Translation Studies, and Comparative Literature to present their research. As such, it is also a special occasion for the academic community to discuss essential issues, including the social, political, and cultural roles of the translator. This year our theme will be "History and Translation Studies." We are honored and delighted to welcome Jean Delisle, professor emeritus at the University of Ottawa, as our keynote speaker for this eighth edition of the Voyages in Translation Studies colloquium. All graduate students in Translation, Translation Studies, and Comparative Literature are invited to submit proposals for presentations. Participants will each be allotted thirty minutes, the final ten of which should be reserved for a question/ commentary period. Submissions may be in either French or English and should include the attached information sheet, completed, and an abstract of approximately 300 words.
