Talking of strange requests- I was once asked if I could help a male employee with his vasectomy- I politely informed him that as an OH professional this was not really part of my remit but I was tempted to offer a couple of bricks........! much hilarity amongst my colleagues!

Have to say - whether I would find such requests funny would really depend what end of the week I was at! While i quite like to be helpful I really do get very tempted to tell the more demanding of my clients to place their sillier requests and questions where the sun may never shine................

I did suggest a vet which caused hysteria in the rest of the department who could only hear my end of the conversation!

I once got a call asking what someone should do with kittens who were vomiting!!!!

I (we) should write a book on the weird and wonderful requests OH departments receive! Unfortunately I just can’t bring myself to say no, sorry, cant help!
Telephone call from our PCT library re a massage chair they wish to purchase (as an incentive to get people into the library apparently)
I wont hold my breath waiting for replies……………. but do any of you know a company they could contact?
