A one day workshop run by West Midlands Career Development Group, CILIP

Health Information is a fast changing environment where it is often difficult for the non-specialist to keep informed.  The West Midlands Career Development Group has a workshop running on the 4th November 2008 so that Library and Information professionals who work outside of the health environment can see

how this specialist area is changing and developing.

Outcomes for the day:

Our objective is to equip librarians and information workers from public libraries, social care, FE and other sectors with the knowledge to explore and discover the wealth of health and social care information available to them and their clients.

To draw on the experience of local speakers to showcase 4 areas of high quality health resources (this includes: a hospital health information centre, an online directory of health and social care information and support groups, Information on prescription, Health Exchange).

Attendees will leave with a comprehensive list of health and social care resources that are available to them and their clients.

There will also be a chance to ask questions of the speakers and to network with colleagues.
