Subject: January 30 deadline for European Award for Languages

**Apologies for cross-posting**

Dear all,

Just a reminder that anyone planning to nominate their innovative language project for a prestigious European Award for Languages this year should do so by 30 January. The Award is presented each year to schools, colleges, universities, businesses, community groups and other institutions that are doing creative, resourceful and innovative work with language learning.

In order to be eligible for an award, projects should be replicable and should provide a potential source of inspiration for others, in different languages, contexts and even different countries. Projects can be based around any language other than English and are expected to have an international dimension.

As well as the prestigious European Award label, winners receive books, teaching resources or vouchers from a range of sponsors, as well as additional special prizes for selected winners. Each year one of the winning projects is also chosen by the Mary Glasgow Language Trust to receive its annual award of £2,000. Winners will receive their Award from CILT’s patron Sir Trevor McDonald at an awards ceremony.

All best,
