Hi again! 
              is it possible to extract just one volume from a 4D file? I was looking
at the tutorial linked through http://lcni.uoregon.edu/mediawiki/index.php/FSL:FDT and
in the initial procedure description a routine  "avwroi" is used. In am not
able to locate it in my fsl distribution. Is it a standard binary? In any case,
is there any fsl routine that can help me extract selective volumes from
a 4D file?

Because you are wanting to resample V1, a vector image, you should use
vecreg so you don't get artifacts.  I don't know if by default it does an
identity transform like FLIRT or not, but if so you can use it in the same
way as Mark suggests you use FLIRT.

That's right - although you can leave out the -init and identity
matrix as this is the default.
