Hi Kate:
I'm working on an article for OnTrack, and was wondering about
format. It has a table and figure (!). Would a
nicely-arranged PDF be best, or do you have some sort of OnTrack
interface that you place article components in?
Also, I had a question about the volume and issues. For normal
publishing, the "issue" count restarts every time there's a new
volume, usually every year. This was also the case in old OnTracks,
although they also kept a running count of overall number. However,
now we have a volume 16 and issue 31, I supposed because it's the 31st
OnTrack overall. Under the old convention, it would have been
called something like "OnTrack 31, v16 No 2". Since these
article are occasionally cited, something in a more customary form might
be advisable.
Cheers,
Rich

Dear all,
Apologies to all those who have
already received notification of the publication of the latest issue of
Ontrack. After a brief discussion in Anchorage it appears that many
of the community are unaware of, or have not yet discovered the Ontrack
website.
There are several important issues
about the furture of the conference series, and the community as a whole
that were discussesd at the Anchorage meeting, and are presented in the
current issue of Ontrack, so I would like to remind all subscribers to
this mailing list that the Ontrack website can be found at
www.ontrackforum.org
The website has many functions,
including:
Current issue of Ontrack
All back issues of Ontrack
Topic & technique based discussion boards
Job advertisements
Conference information
Laboratory profiles
A searchable database of all
registered users to replace the old "FT
directory"
If you wish to receive future
notifications about Ontrack and read the current issue, please visit
www.ontrackforum.org
and register your details.
One significant benefit of the
web based format is that articles, advertisements and other items can all
be added at any time throughout the year, and many items (adverts etc.)
can be added directly by all registered users. Please see the website for
details of how to submit articles, or contact me if you would like any
further information.
I hope everyone has a prosperous 2009,
Kate Dobson
