Dear Colleague JISC RSC Northern and the University of Sunderland are holding a one- day conference, ‘Learning in Virtual Worlds’, on Tuesday 21st April 2009, at the award winning Sir Tom Cowie Campus. It will be aimed at managers, practitioners and researchers from universities, FE colleges, and other FE and skills sector providers. The conference will focus upon exploring opportunities for avatar-based learning in 3- D virtual worlds such as Second Life and OpenSim. A blended programme of workshops and keynote presentations will be offered which have a broad appeal to both experienced users and to those who just want to find out more.
