  ESRC PhD Studentship (1+3/+3) 2009-10


      UCL School of Public Policy

UCL’s Department of Political Science/School of Public Policy, one of
the top ten research departments in the country (ranked 6 in RAE 2008),
is pleased to invite applications for an ESRC quota studentship award.
Funding is available for a three-year PhD studentship (+3) or a
four-year programme of training (1+3) including one of the School’s MSc
programmes. The award is open to all fields of politics represented
within the department, including Comparative Politics, International
Relations, Political Theory and Public Policy.

Masters programmes can be taken as part of a four-year programme in the
following:

• MSc in Democracy and Democratisation
• MSc in European Public Policy
   MSc in Global Ethics and Governance
• MA in Human Rights
   MA in Legal and Political Theory
• MSc in International Public Policy
• MSc in Public Policy

The award includes full payment of Home fees and an annual stipend
(£14,940 in 2008/09), subject to satisfactory progress. This award is
open to UK and other EU students who meet College and ESRC eligibility
requirements. Any EU applicants who do not meet UK residential
eligibility requirements are eligible to receive the tuition fee only,
but will be considered for a departmental bursary and relevant UCL
scholarships.

      academic work
    * Research proposal (for +3 studentship applications)
    * A letter of interest outlining research interests and your reasons
      for applying (for 1+3 studentships)
