Postgraduate Studentships in the Department of Geography, University of
Sheffield

The Department of Geography invites applications for admission to its Taught
and Research Postgraduate Programmes. We have a number of studentship
opportunities for September 2009, including University Research
Studentships, Research Council studentships, Masters studentships and
bursaries. Founded in 1908, the Department of Geography is one of the
leading research departments in the country. According to the results of the
independent 2008 Research Assessment Exercise the Department is by all
measures within the top 10 Departments in the UK. It was also graded 5A in
both the previous two Research Assessment Exercises. With over 30 full-time
academic staff, a graduate school of over 50 PhD and Masters students, we
are one of the largest Geography departments in the UK and a global leader
in several research fields including Climate and Cryosphere, Drylands
Research, Social and Cultural Geographies, Policy, Governance and
Participation and Social And Spatial Inequalities.
