We have decided to go with the Edexcel course. I really liked the way the course is very focused on skills, thinking and creativity, I think it is a very forward looking syllabus. I also like the fact that it is very different from the A-level course. I feel at the moment that the students who do the GCSE get quite bored with the AS as they have covered almost all the topics before. Having taught the GCSE Business and Economics course for years, I felt the traditional straight Business taught at my current school was quite uninspiring. I have also heard a lot of positive feedback from the pilot course.

One of the main reasons we changed was the (sadly) 2 years of a high % of remarks being sent in (including one whole centre re-mark after some papers were changing by as much as 30%!) and we felt that the overall marking has become so variable in quality and lack of consistancy for GCSE exams that BTEC offers and more fair and real result to the work and levels of our students.
