Care2 Action Alert

Hi m,

A recent United Nations crop assessment found that at least six areas of eastern Ethiopia have seen a near total crop failure because of inadequate rainfall. The UN also announced that the country-wide drought is likely to continue well into 2009.

Despite this crushing news, there is hope for the children of Ethiopia! Help spread the word >>

Therapeutic feeding programs have been set up around Ethiopia. This approach has revolutionized the treatment of malnutrition in Ethiopia and is leading to a significant drop in mortality rates for malnourished children of all ages.

While we are headed in the right direction, there is still much work to be done to save the lives of these precious children. The number of Ethiopians in need of emergency food aid has jumped from 4.6 to nearly 6.5 million over the past five months, as rising food prices and drought compound the crisis.*

With all the food in the world, how can we continue to let others go without? The time to act is now! Help bring international attention to the plight of these children. Pledge to get the story out in your community today >>
