Morning,

Can anyone help explain this please? When I use a CLEA calculated GAC
concentration for a substance where the 50% rule is invoked as a source
concentration in the forwards risk assessment Ratio Mode, the hazard
quotient exceeds 1 and is therefore unacceptable?

A quick example would be for Cadmium, though the most dramatic effect
was with TPH Aromatic C12-16. The HQ for this fraction using the back
calculated GAC as a source was around 1.3.

I think I know how/where this issue arises in the methodology, but
haven't been able to specifically work it out and wondered if anyone
else knew the explanation. Maybe it's all the trees getting in the way
of the wood.

Cheers

Matt
