Hello

This is called a Chinese water pipe. It was designed along the same
principles as the traditional and well known hookah, but its small size
meant that it was hand held and portable. An opium and tobacco mixture
may have been smoked originally.

Attached are a few pics from the pages of 'The Pipe Book' by Alfred
Dunhill (1969)

Adam

	Hi,

This lovely object was bought in over the weekend. It's made
from possibly electroplated silver and has removable tweezers and has
what looks like to be Chinese hallmarks.

Thing is, it doesn't look like anything we have in the
collections? Has anyone come across one of these?

	Many thanks

	Becki
