Dear List
Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but..... When migration by portfolio was first agreed by the NMC it had been my understanding that registrants who did so would not be given an annotation on the register. I was therefore surprised about 3 weeks ago when one of the people who work in the New Registration department at the NMC identified that those people who’s portfolios I had approved would get the annotation. I queried this because of the above.
I subsequently had a conversation with one of the senior people at the NMC about 10 days ago who indicated that annotations may not be possible for those who migrate. All I can say is “watch this space”. Are any list members who have had their portfolios approved been registered yet? If so what is your annotation? You can find out by going to http://www.nmc-uk.org/aNewSearchRegister.aspx and adding your name and or PIN.
Happy Christmas
Anne

Dear List
Anne Harriss's contribution has answered my question:
"The requirement for registration as an SCPHN may well become an issue for
nurse lead services see section 2 of this HSE document":
http://www.hse.gov.uk/research/rrpdf/rr584.pdf
This contains the follwoing:
"For a nurse led occupational health service, the lead nurse should also be registered as a Specialist
Community Public Health nurse (Occupational Health)"
I note that this is not just on the third part of the register but actually has OH in brackets afterwards.
I'm going for annotation...
What a lively debate, glad everyone is still awake in the lead up to the holidays...
Festive Cheer
Diane
