Hello everyone, We are currently advertising an artists hermitage at The Manchester Museum. Please pass it on to anyone who might be interested. Thanks, David Manchester Museum Hermit Project The Manchester Museum wishes to engage an artist to inhabit a hermitage in the tower for up to 8 weeks beginning in May 2009. The opportunity is open to artists working in any discipline, and the hermit will be able to communicate with the outside world using a variety of innovative means during the project. Before the residency, the artist will have access to all of the Museum's collections and staff, and specialists from across The University of Manchester. A fee of between £8,000 - £12,000 will be available (dependent on the duration of the project). This should cover initial research and development, and post-residency time to prepare any legacy publications or other outcomes. A materials budget is also available which will be agreed with the artist on awarding the commission.
