Gorffennol Digidol: Technolegau newydd ym meysydd treftadaeth,

dehongli ac estyn-allan

Dydd Mercher Chwefror 25ain 2009, 9.45am - 5.00pm

Y Ganolfan Ddelweddu, Campws Penglais, Prifysgol Aberystwyth

Nodau'r Seminar

Bwriad y seminar yw tywys rheolwyr treftadaeth, swyddogion addysg ac estyn-allan, a swyddogion amgueddfeydd a llywodraeth leol yng Nghymru a thu hwnt drwy rai o'r technolegau diweddaraf sydd ar gael i ymchwilio i safleoedd treftadaeth a'u hyrwyddo. Gwneir hynny drwy gael siaradwyr allweddol I gyflwyno papurau a thrin a thrafod enghreifftiau ymarferol o ddefnyddio'r technolegau hynny, pa broblemau a phrofiadau y gallent fod wedi'u cael, a'r canlyniadau ymarferol i gymunedau neu reolwyr treftadaeth.

Ein nod yw cyflwyno amrywiaeth mawr o dechnegau digidol i ddal data 3-dimensiwn, gan gynnwys LiDAR a sganio â laser, yn ogystal â thrafod yr amrywiaeth o ffynonellau eraill y gellir eu defnyddio i greu delweddau effeithiol, gan gynnwys cynlluniau a golygon 2-ddimensiwn a ffotograffau. Fe astudiwn ni'r amrywiaeth o ddelweddiadau 3-dimensiwn y gellir eu cynhyrchu ar wahanol raddfeydd ac ar sail cynrychiolaeth ffoto-realistig, dehongliadau ac adluniadau archaeolegol. Byddwn ni hefyd yn ymchwilio i'r dewisiadau sydd ar gael o ran trefnu i allbynnau digidol fod yn hygyrch i'r cyhoedd, gan gynnwys defnyddio gwefannau, PDAs ac e-lwybrau.

Seminar Aims

This seminar is intended to guide heritage managers, education and outreach officers, and museum and local government officers in Wales and further afield through some of the newest technologies available for researching and promoting heritage sites. This will be done through the medium of papers presented by key speakers who can talk through practical examples where such technologies have been used, what their problems and experiences may have been and the practical outcomes for communities or heritage managers.

We aim to introduce a wide range of digital techniques for 3-dimensional data capture including LiDAR and laser scanning, as well as discussing the range of other sources that can be used to create effective visualisations including 2-dimensional plans and elevations and photographs. We will look at the range of 3-dimensional visualisations that can be produced from photo-realistic representation, archaeological interpretation and reconstruction and on differing scales. We will also be exploring the options available for making digital out puts accessible to the public including websites, PDA's and e-trails.

Confirmed Speakers

RCAHMW, Wessex Archaeology, Aberystwyth University, The Discovery Programme, See3D and Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust.

Sessions

* 3D Animation and Imaging in Heritage Interpretation
* Remote Sensing, laser scanning, LiDAR and GIS
* Combining Technologies
